Established in the 12th-century, St-jean-pieds-de-port set in the Montagne Basque canton was the former capital of the Basque region of Base-Navarre. After our drive-in visit, we were convinced that one day we will also along with others walk the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela. We still dream of doing so.
Biarritz was our “home base” from where we explored the Basque autonomous region by car.
